LIVING IN ALIGNMENT By Maria Saladino
We are often very good at answering many of life’s questions. Like:
● What’s next?
● What’s the plan?
There is one question, however, that we avoid. Not because it’s hard – because, perhaps, it’s inconvenient:
Is the life you’re building actually aligned with who you are NOW?
Not who you were 5 years ago. Not who others expect you to be. Not who you needed to be to survive. The version of you that you ‘ARE’…the one that exists today – NOW!
We outgrow beliefs. Some of them silently. They don’t always announce their expiry date. They keep running in the background, like old software. They’ve shaped so many decisions even though they are no longer of service. Beliefs about many things – what you’re good at; what you’re not good at; what you deserve to have (or not); what’s realistic…and so on.
We often mistake familiarity for truth. Comfort is what has been convincing! Maybe it’s time to get uncomfortable.
I invite you to pause for a moment and notice all of the things that you have been saying ‘yes’ to (perhaps out of habit) rather than from a place of honesty. How often do you shrink your true desires before they have a chance to breathe? Are you being loyal to a version of yourself that no longer exists?
Growth is often a quiet discomfort rather than a dramatic breakthrough – a sense that some things no longer fit. This feeling can sometimes be confused with having a problem. What if it’s just feedback? What if it’s just an opportunity to learn and grow?
Would it be ok to give yourself permission to update some of those beliefs about who you think you are? What’s possible for you? And what might change if you did?
Are you noticing that life has stopped asking you ‘What can you do?’ and is now asking you something different. Something far more honest – a question to your truest of true selves:
‘Are you living in alignment with who you truly are?’
Not the roles you learned to play, the version of you that kept the peace, met expectations and just ‘made’ things work – the TRUE version of you – beneath the habits, the labels and all the noise.
Alignment isn’t loud. It doesn’t demand. It shows up as a quiet tension when life continues to be incongruent with your inner truth. Drifting out of alignment can happen slowly. How many times have you said ‘yes’ when your body says ‘no’? Have you stayed on a path that once felt right and now feels so heavy? Notice how those beliefs that helped you once to belong, are now keeping you small.
Alignment is about telling the truth. First to yourself and then to the world around you. You don’t have to have all the answers – perhaps it’s more about asking different questions:
● Where are you compromising your truth to stay comfortable?
● Where are you honouring your old identity instead of your current self?
● Where would your life feel lighter if you allowed yourself to be more honest?
Stop abandoning yourself in the small moments. When you realign in yourself – in your truth – clarity will follow!
Has life started showing you the truth? Is it time for you to stop ‘performing’ your life?
It’s time to choose congruence and alignment over comfort and familiarity.
There is a light inside you that wants to shine. It’s time for who you ARE and how you LIVE to finally meet!
It’s time to live HONESTLY!
