FULL CIRCLE: FROM PARTICIPANT TO CO-FACILITATOR – THE POWER OF YOU, THEN AND NOW by Jodi O’Connell
Thirteen years ago, I walked into The Power of YOU as a participant – open-hearted, a little unsure, but hungry for something more. I couldn’t have known then how deeply that experience would shape my life. What began as a personal exploration quickly became a turning point – a moment when I first learned the tools to meet myself with honesty, compassion and purpose.
I still remember the frameworks that were shared with us during that first weekend – so simple, yet so profoundly life-altering. They’ve been my compass ever since. Through life’s inevitable highs and lows, I’ve returned to those models, those insights, and that feeling of knowing myself more deeply than ever before.
Since that first experience as a participant, I’ve returned to The Power of YOU each year. First, as a crew member – to support others as they took brave steps into their own growth. Later still, I stepped into the role of event manager – coordinating the experience that had once transformed me. And now, in what feels like the most meaningful full circle moment of all – I stand as co-facilitator.
To now be part of guiding others through this journey is something I truly cherish. Every time I witness someone soften into their own truth, light up with clarity, or stand taller in their purpose, I feel it – this is the work that matters.
Each role I’ve played within The Power of YOU has deepened my understanding, not just of the frameworks, but of myself. I’ve come to see that personal growth isn’t a one-time event – it’s a way of living, leading, and relating to the world.
And the beauty of it all? Watching the next wave of participants – brave, curious, and ready – step into their own power, just as I did. I know first hand the impact this journey can have, because I carry it with me every single day.
